The guages in my '70 Charger still work fine, but they really need to be refaced. I'm half tempted to just buy a decal kit. I bought a spare cluster last month so I could send it out without disabling my car during the spring and summer.
The spare cluster is of unknown condition. Everything is there, but will certainly need attention. This is where it gets tricky: Do I just pull my current cluster and reface the guages OR send out the spare? Maybe I'll swap in the spare to see what guages work in it. I've never priced guage restoration before, so I suppose that I am in for some sticker shock. I've talked with Shannon from Redline Guage Works before. He seems pretty cool. I'd like to hear your opinions and the prices you paid for this kind of work. I seem to remember that the decal kit for the guages was under $100. Thanks!

If all your after is nice bright white lettering .
pull the dash out and reface them yourself, It's not hard( time consuming though)

I've done a couple with the gauge faces .

Expense comes in when the gauges need rebuilt or the bezel needs rechromed/relettered

To rebuild and to reface them correctly (not using decals), it cost me around $800. to have a '63 Plymouth cluster done. I used Instrument Specialties.

My '70 Rallye dash went something like this:

- ebay used rallye cluster (my original was FUBAR'ed): $200.00
- rebuild by Autoinstruments: $515.00
- tach, Charger Specialties: $425.00
- reproduction bezels from PG Classics: $465.00
- reproduction woodgrain PG Classics: $669.00
- reproduction chrome switch knob kit: $125.00
- NOS Wiper switch:....................$ 50.00

Total: $2,449.00 ...and then there was the NOS dash pad, radio, speaker, heater box, etc. etc. etc.

Here is my break down from Instrument Specialties.

Their work is concourse level and all their services are a la carte. Everything is broken down during evaluation and you can pick and choose which services you want to have done.

Last one. I'm just looking at these after pictures on line here and they really don't do the dash any justice. Believe me when I tell you they look even better in person.
