What doesn't fit? Eddy rpm heads are supposed to take stock rockers.

What he said.

What is not fitting and what rockers do you have?

Stock rockers aren't adjustable though.

I went through this two weeks ago with my build (RPM heads) the problem was even though my ductiles were shimmed properly to my 906s, the rocker itself was rubbing on the pedestal of the RPM heads. I use shims & spacers, not springs. I spent about 10 hours removing, installing, tightening over and over again until I noticed where the problem was. Went to my spare parts closet and pulled my Harland Sharp Rollers I had set aside (luckily I had them). I got them from Todd at Competition Wedge Racing. Fit like a glove. They do have to be setup for RPM heads though. I didnt have to shim anything....from the package, to the oil bath, to the heads. Put it altogether and dropped a bottle of zinc additive to the oil...

I've got stock stamped steel rockers with the mp484 cam in the challenger with eddy rpms. Been that way for four or five years now....

With a small hyd cam you could just use the factory stamped rocker arms. If you want roller rockers then stop by Mancini and take a look. They carry about a dozen different brands of rocker arms. Personally I'd only use the Hughes rocker arms, but opinions vary I suppose.

Crane Gold Race 1.6 ratio

I bought these for my OOTB Eddy heads 7-8 years ago.

Most roller rockers dont fit any of the Edelbrock heads correctly. If you take any of the commercially available roller rockers, you'll see they are way off on the sweep pattern. Most people say " they worked fine for me", but in fact, they havent ever properly checked the roller tip sweep. This also stands true with some of the small block heads out there. Will they " work" ? Sure. Did you check the valve sweep? Probably not. Simply, they will open and close the valve, and for some thats ok. I like to have the geometry better fitted. I have had, used mocked up, ran, broken, diagnosed about every rocker set up out there. They all have their good and bad points. As far as Eddy roller rockers, I had Harland Sharp make rockers that fit the RPM heads correctly. The only ones I havent used are the newer Hughes rockers, so I cant say on theirs.

I do a fair share of Eddy combos and I can tell you that most of them need some correction or a rocker that is suited for them. ( to be 100% correct).

When Crane went under, I started working with H/S on a new unbushed rocker. I was using BBC blanks, and was correcting both geometry and oiling, to better suit Mopars. During that time, it appears a parts house decided to come out with a non bushed rocker. I decided to not persue it after I find that out. I wasnt going to compete with them on that platform, as they typically want to sell things cheap. I had a better design, but it was going to put my sell price above theirs, and I wasnt interested in fighting for the sales. I think they basically copied Crane, where as I was making changes to make a better piece. I corrected geometry, improved oiling, and went with hi quality shafts. Nuff said.

RHS iron SBM heads fall into the same category. Take just about any rocker out there, and you'll see nothing fits them correctly. The bets fitting rocker for them, which is almost perfect is the Indy rocker believe it or not. I deal with these things in circle track applications, so I see what happens on them.SB Eddys are the same.

Long story short, check the valve tip roller sweep. You'll find issues most likely, and you'll want a set that fits correctly.

For a simple hydraulic cam, you may just end up using stamped steel rockers, which will work typically fine for street use. I use an assortment of shims when using the stamped steel on Eddys to better align them, and tighten them up a bit across the shafts

Points well taken. The Hughes 1.5 geometry was close but not quite there on a zero-decked 493. Shims took care of it.

some roller rockers interfere with the rocker shaft towers on eddie heads. harlands for sure, and i had a set of chinese rollers that required some head relief.

for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

Had to trim the mount on the eddy heads to clear the harland sharp rockers. Just on the end mount IIRC

I'd just add that the Comp steel rocker had good sweep over the valve tip in my Ed head application. I did have to adjust lateral or sideways position with shims on the rocker shaft.
