It's beer:30 somewhere
I am working on a 69 Mod Top Barracuda for a freind of mine and have run into a problem. They had the car painted and a new vinyl top put on, I am trying to put the car back together for them. I didn't take the car apart and the car went threw several body shops so pieces are missing and such, but my question is on the vinyl top molding at the bottom of the vinyl top. There is a 2 piece molding that goes from quarter window to quarter window around underneath the back glass, on the last 2 molding attaching clips at each quarter windows is there some other way these are fastened other than with the clip that uses the nut on the back side, because I cannot get to the back side of these last two clips on either side. I took out the back seat and side panels trying to get to them still no access. Also the clips that fasten the rest of the molding in these last two postion the stud part on the clips that I'm using is too long and is hitting the bracing inside the car, so even if I could get to them to put a nut on them I couldn't use it because the stud is hitting. So are there different clips for the last two attaching points at the quarter windows, or do I just need really long skinny arms to some how get up in there? Thanks in advance for any and all replys.

Larry, this is how it goes. There are 5 molding clips on the quarter panel. The first 4 from the side window back are a fine threaded screw with a big philips head and NO nut on the inside. This thread is finer than the screws/clips with the nuts on the inside. Now that i think about it, maybe the head has the taper so the molding just snaps over the screw head? I see no type of clip under the screw head. Dave

Thank you very much. I will have to look through the big box of parts that I didn't know where goes and see if there is anything like that in there. Thanks again for the info.
