If I change to a 66 K-member in my 65, will that reposition the engine and trans forward or back? How will that affect my driveshaft length and trans mount? I have heard it will move everything forward and I have heard it will move it back.

It moves it rearward 1 5/8 " according to a thread that was asking this in the race section a week or 2 ago , you'll have to modify the trans mount and shorten the driveshaft and your exhaust .

Would a driveshaft from a 66 B-body be the right length or is that just wishful thinking?

Will a '66 driveshaft work with your transmission?

Hi my brother changed his 65 b-body k-member and found that you can use a cross member out of a 66-70 b-body four speed car even though it has a 727 auto. everything will line up. He had his drive shaft that came out of the 65 plymouth and it fit back in the car.

We put a late K-frame in our old 64 Plymouth, modified the crossmember by building a new box for a later trans mount, but the original driveshaft didn't fit. Found one at the junkyard that fit after we moved the rear foward an inch by using the rear spring perch holes (another old trick for improving weight transfer...)
