I have that tool , never thought to try it , if the screw will fit thru the Tbar end and you weld a washer to the other shell , it should.

I use the kit from Harbor Freight at work. I use it for ball joints, universal joints and yes, control arm bushings.
I made a bunch of adapters out of various sized tubing.
Its not the best tool for the job, but it works well for the frequency that its used.

thanks. thought I might try if I got everything apart today. but as usual the car would not cooperate.
t bar won't move on the passenger side.
can't get a good whack at the pin to move it.

not sure what to do right now. driverside is moving pretty easy. but looks like I won't be ready till tomorrow and if that happens I will pay 10 bucks to a shop to do it.

Yes. I used that very tool to install the lower control arm bushings on my 91' Ford Crown Vic.

With just the pieces supplied in the kit? no. Alittle ingenuity- it could work. Also, try prying the lower control back using that too push the T-bar out of the frame.then just pull the control arm off the loose bar.pry bar between k-frame and lower control arm pivot. I never remove T-bar alone.
