On my 69 GTS I had all NOS parts welded on the front end including all the core support pieces. The trouble with an NOS core support top bar is that the 5 clips that hold the headlight harness on are not spot welded to the bar and there are arrows that show where they need to go, but I cannot find any new ones. They are thin metal coated with plastic and not easy to remove and do not go back on easily once you try to remove them correctly. Anyone know where to find them new? Here is a pic of a couple of the clips spot welded on the core support bar.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

It is not as easy as that since the car is already painted. The factory clips have holes in them and the ends are turned under, not really easy to recreate that particular part. This car is a restoration not a hot rod. At this point I am going to have to bond them to the core support and want correct looking pieces, someone out there must know where to get real ones!

Sounds like you are going to have to dig out a core support and ruin it to get the tabs off in one piece .

I tried taking them off a junk core support without much success. Too bad I didn't notice this before it was painted, it is going to be enough fun matching the paint and bonding them on as it is.

Yep, that is the last thing to try, or I could cut them out still on the crossmember then grind them down...

I really assumed you tried to cut the crossmember away from them and not take them off the crossmember . You pretty much have to wreck the part you are trying to reuse.

Well I got a couple of them off a rusty crossmember I had laying around by using an air tool, definitely not the way to go but they were junk anyway so at least I can show what they look like.
