I finally got the rebuilt 440 in the Cuda running after 6 years of sitting, runs great, but the steering box leaks like a sieve, now to make matters worse trying to get this out is a PITA , in the process I have two stripped TTI header bolts and(head of the bolt) how in the hell do I get these bolts out now, I almost to point of cutting the header off with saw-all to get a set of vise grip on the bolt and just replace the header. Any advice before I get this extreme please help a novice........and I still have to get the f%^$$ing box out ......it's going to feel firm for a stage III rebuilt.

One trick for stripped bolt heads is to tap on a slightly smaller metric socket or box wrench. If the bolt heads are 3/8", for example, try 9 MM.

The other fix is to weld on a short bolt, or just nut, to the stripped head and back it out that way.

Changing the steering box with engine installed is possible, just tight. Removing the left motor mount and jacking the engien up a little might help.

I just had almost the same problem with a set of hookers. can only get a box end on the one bolt, even with small heads. ground down a box end and managed to get that one but still stripped, even tried a one size down metric. Alas, pulled out the torches and gut the bolt head off.

Sounds like you could use one of these. They work great. They come in all different sizes.

Update:
Took a Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool and was able to cut the head of the bolt, the one behind the header tube (couldn't get a socket on that one) with several blade changes, got a set of grip tite round bolt sockets which worked great....unbolted the motor mounts and jacked up the motor and pesto steering box on the ground...thanks for your suggestions especially the round nut socket recommendation, that did the trick, jacking the motor up.
