If it spun a bearing you need to take it apart for two reasons... first the rod is %99 chance it is toast, out of round or enlarged or both. Second is there is probably or should I say, there IS bearing material all over inside and it needs to be cleaned out. I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!
