Will a square back alt. off a 1986 360 dodge truck be a bolt in for early 70s electronic ignition car??? Im converting my points to electonic using all mopar parts. I have this alt. laying around.
Will it work??

My bet is the 86 alt. came off a optioned out 4x4 ramcharger with 4bbl and is a higher output alt. Ill do some research and find out.

Mostly sure will need just to use longer belts, due the slightly bigger case on lates alts makes the back of alt to meet with block. That won't allow you to use the original lenght belts
