also dumb question, when running a radial slick do they expand in height during a burnout. I know drag radials dont wondering if the slicks dont either.

Looking for 28X10X15 or 27X10X15

Mine don't.. I have about a finger width(maybe less) between front of the tire and the rocker.. They haven't hit in hundreds of runs.. I'm not aware of them making any less than a 30x9 tho.. If you can fit them, try them.. Hoosiers are what I run.. What a difference from the Quick time pro 27x10.5 DOT and the 30x9 radial slick..

HEY you stole my car!

I am also thinking of changing to a drag slick.

What is your setup engine..etc Is your hood fiberglass who makes it?

I use the Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks and I like them. I even drive on the street with them and they actually handle nice. Ron

You need some more air in those tires Ron. I run mine at 22-23psi. Ask your Hoosier rep about seeing wrinkles on radials.

I've also been running Hoosier radial slicks on my car. Because they don't grow any significant amount like bias ply, you will see higher rpm's at the finish line if using the same size tire. They should be run at higher pressures than bias ply. I found 21 lbs on a 10" rim to work best for my particular combo. You may also feel a firmer "snap" off the line and your RT's may get a bit quicker. ET's should be faster as well - .05-.10 are typical. *** The only downside to radial slicks is that they are more sensitive to track conditions. If the track surface is "marginal", a radial slick will spin sooner and longer than a bias ply under the same conditions. I run them all the time because I don't like to change the car or my routine if I ran bias ply and had a heads-up run. Fortunately, track prep has been very good at the IHRA events I attend. But I have had some consistency problems at local bracket races.

Hoosier has a wide range of radial and bias ply slicks to choose from.

Hoosier drag race tires.

Actually thats the wrong pic as that is the Hoosier QTP tires I used to use in that pic. This is the radial slicks. Ron
