any source for steel rods like these? Need a 6.535 rod, with standard 2.5/2.375 big end bore and .990 pin... I have not found any yet?

BME made aluminum rods for Indy Cyl Heads with those exact dimensions. Had a set in a 499 build years ago. BME will make them I am sure, might be able to scrounge a set still on a shelf. I know you asked for steel, but I don't remember anyone making them?

INDY supplied a BME 6.570 rod with MOPAR journals for my 528" low deck. I never saw a 6.535 with MOPAR journals in the INDY catalog..

There must be a good answer to this............. Why not grind the crank to 2.200?
That is what I just had done to run a chev 6.535 rod.

It's cheaper to buy new rods than grind the crank... I have thought about it.. work on the crank alone would probably be expensive... grinding and retreating...then rebalancing, then your still buying new rods. the loss in mass from journal size is negligible in this engine... Worth zero power, but I guess makes it fit better?? Its a perfect High dollar crank too boot, thats already balanced.. These rods are Bill Miller and are actually 6.525, with the smaller .990 pin...
