Is it possible to do without damage?

I'm looking into turning the MC into a remote reservoir-version.

I tried applying some moderate amount of force at seperating the reservoir from the cylinder, but didn't want to fubar anything.

So... anybody done this before with succes?
What's the 'catch'...?

They do take a significant amt of effort. Just pull straight up w a slight amt of side to side wiggle. They have to be tight or if there was a fluid loss/injury accident it'd be lawsuit city for Ma

There's a spot that looks like it's made to use a prybar of some sort. Use a BIG screwdriver.

You think getting it apart is tough ... try putting it back together!

I'll give it a go again tomorrow.

Anyone know of a nice exploded view of such a MC?
Might make things a little easier if I know what exactly is holding the reservoir and by how much material.
I think it's probably something similar as the tough pushrod-grommet in stock MC's, only larger.

Like what was said, it'll pop straight up and come off with no tools needed, just strong arms.

I have replaced a few master cylinders where you reused the plastic reservoir. It just keeps the master cyl covered in fluid. If it came off you would still have brakes for a few pumps. lol

If my plan works out I don't intend to put it back again into the cylinder-body.
I hope to be able to mount some kind of similar fitting in the housing where I can connect some short tubing to so the reservoir can be replaced in a more accessible position.
