the lower class is work stock. that is the cheapest class to be in. the mods are suspose to be limited to some boltons. like headers , intake, but not suspose to be camed up. i am sure if i go down the track at 7000rms in that class or higher i will bet bumped up to the next class LOL. i know the guy to beat is full roller and i will need to do that also or a fast mopar grind cam.i just think these 440-1 may be too much for a non all out engine. but i own them so i may have to try them just to do it.
the middle class is street stock.it can be up to 6500lb and the rear can be blocked. 470cid max. once again no aluminum heads. but i can have a built motor
just not over 470cid which with a 440 block no one has a 3.9" crank that i noticed. and no dominator type carbs.
the last class is prostock and aluminum heads are allowed. no cid limit. that is agenst a guy that brags his chevy dynoed 1100hp. and when you see him pull it really seems like it.
i have been pulling my trucks since the late 80s just for fun at the local fair. we were with the farm tractors on a tuesday. big block and small block. then they made it a cid cut off at 405cid.
over the years we got our own night on saturday.
then i pulled a diesel in with the gas class before there were any diesel classes. i could get into the pull off the last two years.
but all the smoker trucks wow. big money just to have fun. i am out.i was at the point where i had a pulling diesel that needed a 2,000 dollar pulling clutch and what do i tow the duster with.
so i am back to the gas class.slowly.
