With all the fastes this or that post and who has the fastes this or that. I want to see stock blocks / stock stroke crankshaft / no power adders at all. This means carburator only.(440-413-426 wedge-400-383-360-340-318- 273) Also it has to be running and ready to race or drive. This post is for the guys that have a regular job and can not afford a 605 cube motor that runs in the 8s and have a crew of guys hanging off it. Its for the weekend warrior or the weekend driver.

My JUNK
66 440 block bored over .30
KB Hyper pistons
Stock rods and steel crank
Comp roller cam .625 lift both sides
Harland Sharp rockers
As many call them-- junk Source heads ported
M1 manifold
1050 E85 Carb
8 3/4 REAR WITH 4.88 gears and a 28.5 x 11 Hoosiers slicks
Cal/Track system mono spring
4800 Stall Converter Trans brake leaving at 3800 rpm
BRACKET RACE CAR
CAR WEIGHS 3250
I have pounded this combo for 6 years.
Best ever ET 10.62 AT 128.1 MPH 1/4 and a 6.63 at 102.5 1/8th Differant tracks.This year!
I may have about 10 grand into the whole thing.
A buddie of mine has about the same combo and he is a touch faster in the 1/4 mile. We were talking last night and we were kidding around how much we don't have in these cars and how we are real close to the same ETs and Mph of guys that have 440 or 400s that are stroked out to 500 plus cubes.I gess I am a stone age mopar guy. Only because I can not afford to have a credit card race car.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

Don't have an ET on my sled yet but It's built as cheap as possible and runs very strong on the street. I hope to get some track time this spring...

67 Valiant, no heater/wipers, manual steering, aftermarket wiring
full interior
3100 with me in it and I'm 220

stock 67 318
GT45 turbo/air to air intercooler
homebuilt holley 650dp
old torker single plane
2800 converter and stock 904
3.55 gear and minispool
26-28" tires depending on what wheels I have on it

I built EVERYTHING myself in my gravel driveway with simple tools. I don't have a tubing bender or tig welder, nothing fancy. All the exhaust side was built with off the shelf bends cut with a sawzall...I don't even have a radial arm saw for precise cuts lol. I feel like when tuned, it should run 7.50-7.60's in the 1/8th on 12lbs boost and pump gas. With more boost and race gas it might manage low 7's. I have about $5000 in everything including the price of the car and building the rearend. I love the low buck cars that get it done. I don't have a 75k a year salary to spend I've got 30k, a morgage, and bills lol so everything has to be cheap and make the most power per dollar spent

I'm in the same boat..LOL, I make good money ,but every time I save
up some loot -something in my house break's or someone is worse off
than me ...so there it goes - race part's or food for kid's ? -
(not mine)I have 2 with 1 on the way, that have more than needed.
I had a whole turbo set up to mess around with ,and sold it cos
I figured I would never get if figured out with out spending a
ton of money,so It's just an
N/A 360,.030 over
10.5 KB 190
Isky 304 hyd stick/with solid lifter's(tight lash)
Crane roller's
Ported 587
M1 single,Demon 750/pro form main body
904 rev man valve body,3500 stall that's tired
8-3/4 ,4.10,28-13.50 tire
I'm kinda of at a loss as to what I'm going to do with the rear suspension...So I will just ask a bunch of dumb ? here and figure
it out.
Have a good winter stay warm.

I am proud of my junk. Paid for with real cash and does not blow up or burn down and will run the same number time after time. I have actualy won races with my junk and actualy beating faster mopars and chevy and fords that either have alot more cubes or high on nitrous. So what was your point? Better yet what is your pride and joy?

My last mopar was built cheaply and it did have a 440 stroked to 499

Cat crank and rods
kieth black forged pistons
weind team g intake
850 holley
comp xtreme engery cam 252 dur 540/555 lift
3,200 stall
3.91s

It was a fun street car that ran 7.6s in the 1/8
I had 10k into building the whole car including buying the car.
I did all the work myself and did alot of buying of used parts.
Went from this

What's the engine stroke/combo on that one?

Its a .100+ over 318 block, and a 4" stroke crank...
Compression is close to 13.5:1
I keep telling him to add a roller and dominator and that thing would pickup several tenth's. But e says he has to add a bunch more for tech too. I gotta agree, I have seen him run whole race weekends and never take a look under the hood.

I dont consider 10's slow at all. For the como's I see on here they run pretty good. My 63 is a street car with a 440 and 4.15 crank with Indy heads and a flat tappet cam. Indy dual plane intake and 850 DP. So far on 92 pump thru the pipes at 3700 lbs it run 10.76 @ 124.49. But I only have 7 passes on the eng so I hope to improve next year. Ron
