I have Flowmaster 40s on mine, I get compliments all the time. But the absolute baddest ass sounding Big Block Mopar I ever heard was Brian Hicks 470" KOS B1 motor he ran in the mid 90s. And it had Borla XR1s. That thing gave me goose bumps....
Mopar to the bone!!!

8500 rpm burnouts and purging his nitrous with the gas pedal probably contributed. You asked for best sounding, and buddy that one sounded alien........

2 1/2 dynomax bullets. The shortest ones they make. It's just a stock bore 413 with a thumper cam. All i have is the small idle clip till the spring comes. The neighbors know when i'm coming from two blocks over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvUCDeT60TI

"Best sounding" is in the ear of the beholder. To me, the best sounding muffler is the origional factory Hemi muffler...if "loud" is what you want, go with the above mentioned.

Exactly. I think a bit of it also has to do with where and when we got interested in cars and the sound a person associates with a performance engine.
I've got a set of repop Hemi mufflers on my 57 Plymouth and every time I fire it up the sound takes me back to when I was working in a Chrysler Plymouth dealership in 68-70. Besides the Road Runners and GTXs we got in they were also on the State Cop cars. Of course they usually didn’t on the Road Runners and GTXs too long .....they were usually quickly replaced with a set of glasspacks (my second favorite...especially if I want loud) or Turbo mufflers ......by the way you are probably an “old guy” if you remember the original application for the Turbo Mufflers was the Corvair.
