I got all done cutting and installing my Ultra Bell on a 727 and realized that I left this part out, it was originally installed on the top two bolts of the pump housing, do I need to tear it apart and install this? What does it do?

Thanks guys...

Back in the shop after spending some family time... The new bell covers that hole completely, or at least the direct line of sight. There is an air gap back there so it can vent. Installing that cover will act as a shim, I believe, causing misalignment of the transmission, any further comments?

pull the support, diss the pump, tap the vent hole- make sure the pipe plug is flush outside & inside. put the vent on top of the tail shaft housing in the middle, towards the front of the hsg. i put in a 1/8 pipe 90 & ran a hose up to the firewall & put the vent there. never had a problem. seeya.
