Are the tail shaft bolts on a 904 "Wet"?? I have a mysterious ATF leak after replacing my tailshaft with a new gasket and wonder if the slow leak is creeping out of the bolt threads. Easy fix if it is.

I pulled the tail and "think" the leak was coming from the low band apply lever shaft. It has an O-ring and think that was it.
But at least all the lower tail bolts go right into the main case and are wet so I'll make sure I put a little goo on the threads when I put it back on.
This way all the bases will be covered.

I pushed it in, cleaned the recess with brake cleaner and filled it with RTV and skimmed if off with a spackle knife. That coupled with some gasket tack on the rear gasket and some non hardening sealer on the bolts should do the trick just nicely.
