Does anyone know if a neck collar is still required when you use a Hans type system.

My buddys I have worn a few times there really wasn't a way you could wear one even if you wanted too. I would think not though, might ought to call whoever you got it from.

One day I will have something cool here.

i think a hans device is a good idea for any racer at any level. hit a wall at 50mph lately? think you can control what your head is gonna do? heh.

for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

Yup I hit the wall at 240MPH and it almost did rip my head off, almost. Didn't have a Hans on then, I wear one now.

If you are faster than 7.49 or open bodied car in the 1/4, then a Hans device is required with a helmet skirt or or head sock. If running T/D or Top Sportsman, then it is required to have the Hans with the skirt or head sock. I can't see how a neck collar would even work with a Hans device.

I was driving a 3/4 ton van on the street pulling away from a traffic light, so about 10-15 mph. Got hit on the LR tire spun me 180 degrees. Other car 35-40 mph ran red light. 14 months later I had an artifical disc & titanium plate permenantly installed in my neck just below the brain stem.
I bought a neck collar to use & the car was only a high 11 to low 12 second bracket car. Gotta protect head & neck as it dosen't take much to cause very serious life threatening injuries.

OK, I was looking at the Hybrid pro. I seen Force and Capps both have neck collars on with these systems. I see other drivers with different systems without neck collars.

I have a Hans with the quick release tethers, I would not get in a racecar without it. No way a collar will work with it as stated previously.
