I'm about to put front and rear Wilwood disc brakes front and rear on my Challenger and was wondering if anyone who has them has any tips/trick for using them?
What master cyl and porpotion valve did you use?
Any issues you can help with?

I have Strange on the front and Wilwoods on the rear of my Dart. The mc is a aluminum 1 1/32" bore, if I had it to do over again I would buy a 15/16" aluminum unit from Dr Diff. The proportioning valve is off a 73 Dart, but I removed the internals and just use it as a distribution block. I also installed and adjustable proportioning valve in the rear line but didn't need to, it's wide open now.

My car has 165 radials on the front and 325s on the rear and has never offered to lock either end up on hard breaking.

Just my experience and , your results may vary.

What is the reason for wanting to change to the 15/16? I have no experience with either and am looking for opinions. I have a 63 Valiant that im putting wilwoods on the front. Looking for MC advice.

I have 4 piston Wilwoods on the front of my wagon.
No complaints, they came on the car and work great.
Don't know if you've ordered them yet but were I doing it again though I'd hit up Dr. Diff and get his kits. They use late model Mustang stuff so parts are easily available and much cheaper than Wilwood.

For a master cylinder I'd call Cass up and tell him what you're doing. He'll have the right one for you.

As for prop valve - did the car come with 4 wheel drums or disc/drums?
I converted my Mustang from disc/drum to disc/disc using a Wilwood prop valve and it works great.

I already have the wilwood 4 piston kit for 9" spindles. New they cost me $400 with tax from summit racing instead of almost $700. Got to love their open box specials. Need a prop valve and mc. I hear people say use the 15/16, or 3/4 or 1 1/16 or whatever. I would like to know the reason and what the difference in each 1 is. I dont like a stiff pedal, but dont want a wet sponge either. Any ideas?

A larger bore master cylinder will move more fluid.
Your stock drums had 2 small pistons per wheel.
Discs have 4 pistons per wheel, thus they will require greater volume of fluid to properly move the pistons.
As to what size you need, I believe I am running a 15/16 purchased from Dr. Diff. I have no complaints at all.

Smaller bore means less pedal effort.
