Mini starter installed; had to shorten the electrical post and use part of the adapter so the cable will clear the block. Purchased a set of Ebay shorties for $189.00 and notched the frame a bit for clearance. The angled plugs clear the tubes but not by much. Straight plugged heads would have a lot of room for the boots. I am going to try some accel racing shorties to gain more boot clearance. The dipstick that I got with the truck pan would not work so I went to Napa and bought a 3/8" brake line that already had the double flare and nut on it. I put a few bends in it and made a bracket to secure to the header bolt. I am looking for a flexible dipstick indicator rather than cut the new one. It'll be for sale along a bunch of stuff soon. I plumbed in the fuel lines back to the (quiet) fuel pump. Here are a few pix.

One more showing plug clearance available for straight plugged heads and the notch to clear the header. Don't think I will have to reinforce the frame in that area as most of the weight/stress is on the bottom and sides. I'll just have to keep an eye on it once it is running. These shorties might be temporary depending on how much power is lost versus long tube headers but the truck is not going to the strip; just a big HP play toy

Installed the Accel 416S shorty plugs; not that much shorter, but every little bit will help. Finished measuring and putting ends/boots on the plug wires and routed inside the frame rails. I can put my thumb between the outer plug boots and header tubes, so I should be good. Here are some pix.

Moved the cab from outside to inside of my garage via a moving dolly and my floor jack. Cleaned and undercoated the bottom; friend and I installed the cab using my cherry picker. Was a little wobbly, but we got in on.

My cab rubber mounts were shot; one side sagged almost a 3/4". Ordered a set of cheap poly mounts. Here's a rear shot before I torque it down.

Also spent the last couple of days putting the dash back together. It looks like I will have to make a plate for the heater box opening and run a vintage air heater/defrost. If I was in the south, I wouldn't worry, but up here in ND it gets darned cold.

I am going to hook up the engine and rear frame wiring, clean up the floor, fix the door hinges and hopefully install some carpeting. My passenger fender was rusted under the paint and after searching I found a new one for $106.00 shipped. It doesnt look bad; hope it fits. The fenders, front radiator support, cowl and front filler panel are at the body shop. I have a few dings to fix, a few holes to fill and a 6" section outboard of the cab mount that needs replacing. It'll keep me busy for awhile.
