I'm looking to build a B-Block 470, I need a 3.915" crank. The problem is 440source is out, none til Feb. Any 1 else know where I can get a reasonably priced 1? Help.

If K1 makes that unit it would be my first choice on the low end of cost.

The b block 470 is a great combo, and was originally developed to work well with the stock size BB port and use a cheap, stock offset ground crank. Now with the availability of many different combos, it just makes sense to go bigger. A 4.25 stroke is 512, makes a very good combo with the small rod bearing. The 499 with a 4.15 stroke is great also, using the standard mopar rod bearing. Either will be faster than the 470 due to a fatter torque curve at lower rpms in most cases.

Are you looking to build a mild street engine, or a race engine? What heads are you planning to use?

Although it is hard to argue with the 4.250" (511-512 CID), for a street engine with factory iron heads or even out-of-the-box RPM heads, the 3.915" stroke is just fine.
