Hey all

I was just curious what everyone's plan for their cars over the winter. I myself am kind of at a crossroads. I think the coronet has a lot more in it with a few tweaks to the chassis. So, I'll be focusing on that for me.

What are you all doing?

TONS

Rebuild the engine for the procharger
Finish the procharger setup
Have a tranny build to withstand the new power
New Driveshaft Loop etc
Switch to a Locker for the Dana

Forgot, sending my heads to Dwayne Porter to get done

May pull out all the wiring for the fast xfi system so that I can dyno the engine

Loose a few more pounds, tweak my combo a little more, CNC port the heads.....then go get my 8 second N/A small block time slip. Probably going to run the divisionals next year in Super Street and try my hand at that throttle stop/pro tree racing stuff.

In order until I run out of cash...

Replace all front end bushings.
Engine rebuild.
Change shifter handle.
Engine compartment detail.
Add power brake booster.
Replace brake drums and shoes.

Pretty much the same thing I'd planned for LAST winter... which goes to show how (un)sucessful that effort was.

Go through everything. New tires, maybe change gears, maybe Q16. Putting together a list now.

Just plan to upgrade to a larger electric fuel pump over the red Holley pump on it now. Other then that just plan to tweak the car over the next few years hoping to work it down to 10.50's. Ron

My plans are simple. Move the car in the back of the garage, place it on jack stands, and put the cover on it. Then bring out the snowmobiles.

Well I stated in another post that I am stripping my car back down and changing colors." Candy Red " I am sending my engine back to the shop for some checking over and a new cam also. I have to try and at least stay right behind Ron's bad azz ride.

Will be installing a 4” crank in the 340. Also considering buying a set of TTI headers and reworking the exhaust to tone things down a little during street driving.

Putting the whole car back together. Rewire, interior, full exhaust with chrome tips, put engine back together. So far it has been repainted, new seals, front wind shield, chrome molly cage with dual swing out bars cage goes through the dash up front, and new alterkation under it.

Hey man, I'm really happy to hear that you can use some of the iron you own. I can attest to how life can derail alot of well meaning plans. Great news. Me? I am hoping that 2012 will finally be "Leigh's year". I've had a ton of s h i t happen the last 7, and am ready to see that little winking yellow light come on in my lane. Oh, and to keep on topic (I've never had problems with that ) Slicks, E85 carb, all new shocks and a Fat Joe's chassis tune up.

Well, I've done very little racing the last couple of years, so I'm heading in a different direction. I'm currently putting together a plan for becoming an independent race announcer. That way I can pick the weekends and events I want to work. I've gotten some great advice and help from many people over the years, and I should be mailing a brochure and business cards out at the beginning of the year to about 30 tracks and promoters in and around Ohio. I'm hoping to also move into voice over and commercial work as well. Maybe I'll see some of you at the track a little more next season!

-Plan on putting a bigger rear end in the truck (after breaking this one twice costing me 1st place this season)

-Putting a mini spool in the front differential and adding a unlocking hub instead of using a Detroit locker.

-Hoping to god I can sell both engines in the near future and get a new engine to power the devil!

Sold my race car and getting the A12 RR done. I have had the 6 bbl RR since 1994 and decided it was time to restore it. It will be my new ALL Purpose car when it's done.
Selling my car trailer to help get another RR done to drive and enjoy.
That is enough for now.

Continue looking for a race car to buy. Not going to put the open trailer away this winter with hopes of a road trip. Looking for a roller in decent shape to put my motor and tranny in.

Remove the stock 8-3/4 with 3.23 gears, in favor of a Dana 60 with 4.10's. It might actually pick the wheels again.

Finish & run the '64's new motor. Plow snow.
Finish its new 727. Plow snow.
Swap into the car. Plow snow.
Find a Dana for it or build the best 8.75 I can. Plow snow.
Do the 3" exhaust. Plow snow.
Get some 9x28 slicks for it. Plow snow.
Sell the '63. Plow snow.

Time & weather allowing, get more done on Missile VII and another project. After all that, maybe get a real job again.

Finish putting the 410ci stroker motor togather to replace the trusty old 340 in my Dart Sport. Also going to swap out the leaf springs for a Chris Alston ladder bar kit w/adjustable Strange coil overs, and of course move the rear wheel wells to the frame for more tire clearance. Hopefully run in the 10.50 zone!

And YES, I'll be plowing some snow also!

Hey all

I was just curious what everyone's plan for their cars over the winter. I myself am kind of at a crossroads. I think the coronet has a lot more in it with a few tweaks to the chassis. So, I'll be focusing on that for me.

What are you all doing?

Mike

LIAR! I've seen it on facebook and here for sale! I shoulda asked for a ride in it when i met ya in Madison.

I love that you have a different car from the norm. I always liked those 300's. Should be awesome with a pressurized 408 under the hood.
