I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS Back in the day I welded up a tooth just like that and filed it to shape, worked fine for me then....

That's a 15 min. repair for a welder.
Actually doing a lot of hunting... got a real nice 5 point(was a 6, but it broke a point) ... big body

In some places it looks like the gear is bottomed out, which won't let the bendix push the gear out fully. The paint is wiped off in the bottom of the teeth, but only 1/2 way across the face. On a Chevy you fix that with shims - I don't know how you would fix that on a Mopar, other than just trying to wiggle the starter away from the engine while tightening.
For all I know it could be the whole ring is welded on a little off center... .020 is allowable

Because when I typicaly do recomend this type of fix ...it bites me in the A$$...Thats why I followed it up with it worked for me.
