It is a good product. I just used it last weekend. It is great on light surface rust.

Ok, thanks for the responses. I didn't know it was so common. It's strange, Last time I tried I couldn't find it via Google. Oh well.

Tractor Supply CO. has a product, (Sterosol Milkstone Remover and Acid
Rinse,SKU # ST11), that has the same active ingredient, (Phosphoric Acid), as all the other rust removers and is about $12.00 a gallon. One gallon allows you to make 10 gallons of cleaner. Only stores that have dairy farms in their area carry it, but I would imagine any store could order it for you.

I don't think evaporust is an acid. Been awhile since I read the specifics, but I think it creates a process called chelation(?) that causes the rust molecules to attract to each other, which causes the rust to leave the host metal.

you can mix your own solution that works equally as well, for 1/5th the cost. if you only need a gallon, then i guess its not really a big deal but if you want to fill up a tote bin and put some larger parts in it, search on here for rust remover. it works good, you jus thave to ber very thorough when cleaning after words.
