So I butchered the doors apart to get my power window regulators and wiring out. Well I just got to the passenger door and found the regualtor has a broken part. It a slide bushing that mounts to the arm with that connects to the big wheel with teeth. Here are some pictures

here is half the bushing I need

So where do I get one of those pieces and how do you replace it?

Possibly from a non-power window regulator? To replace it I'd expect to grind the back side of that special attaching rivet & to reattach either weld or or there is clearance you might be able drill through that rivet & use a nut/bolt..

Ugh!!!! Ill have to look at some regualtors in my attach to see if they are the same or not. I thought it might of been a common problem. The reason I think this one is broke because some of mounting bolts are "gone" and the regulator was able to move around and put pressure on the bushing. Oh well one more thing on the list to do

Well I went and looked at a diplomat version and no dice. This is going to be fun to find a good one and replace it. Anyone else ever have this problem?

You may wind up having to make it out of steel.. When you posted I recognized the part but wasn't 100% sure it's power window E & 71 up B body only but at this point I think thats pretty clear... You might be able to sandwich a couple pieces of 12 ga or 14 ga sheet metal to make the proper shape & act as a spacer like the original part... A couple plug welds would keep it squared up & it wouldn't ever break again...

OK I was at my shop earlier, I don't know what regulator you looked at, I looked at a pair of E body manual front regulators & those bushings are used... Shouldn't be to tough to get...

I suggest determining the thickness of the material, then get a piece of nylon that size from a plastics retailer. It looks like a part that you could make by (if you don't have access to a milling machine) drilling a hole and a little filing, or 'dremelling'.

First the bushing requested isn't listed because it isn't normally serviceable as it is made into the regulator...

Second anyone suggesting buying from Jim's either is a newbie or needs to be burned at the stake... And you aren't a newbie...

Best I got....
