Im actually adding factory cruise to my superbee. If you get all the pieces it looks pretty straight forward.

I installed Audiovox kit on my '84 D100, 225, 833od. It works great. This kit appears to be out of production. To ease the instalation of the bracket to hold the servo throttle cable, I grabbed the OEM double cable clamp from a junkyard slant six with factory cruise. The clamp holds both the original foot pedal and the new servo cables. I think the S6 and V8 used the same double bracket. The biggest hassle was mounting the magnets on the drive shaft and the bracket for the pick-up. There once was a GM Signal Generator that was used on early '80s Buicks that attached to the trans where the speedo cable went and the speedo cable then attached to the GM SG. This SG would make for a clean and simple installation but it is no longer in production. EDIT: Here's a Audiovox kit like I used selling on Ebay. EDIT: Here's the Echlin VSS232 replacement Buick SG that is discontinued. Find one and it will make the install easier.

I wish that kit was available when I did my D100. They have a adapter to use the GM signal/pulse generator on a Mopar with speedo cable. The pulse generator is the way to go, driveshaft magnets & pick-up are a pain to deal.
With the OEM double throttle clamp, that kit would be almost a bolt on operation.

I had a Heathkit digital speedo and cruise control that used the magnets on the drive shaft. The magnets stayed there about a year and flew off, never to be seen again.
The really efficient way of doing it would be to use a Vascar encoder. They attached to the rear of the speedometer in between the cable and the head. I think it used an optical shutter system to encode distance and from that, speed. It was very accurate. I have seen posts on here wondering what that was from police package cars.

If you have a Factory Service Manual which shows the Speed Control wiring schematics, it's not too difficult to set up on any other similar era Mopar.
You can even grab most of the parts from a late '80s M-body if you don't want to mess with a trans sensor. Mount the servo in the engine compartment, run two speedo cables-- one from the trans to the servo, the second from the servo to the speedo head, and connect/run the wires. You'll need a different brake light switch with four wires, and if you're installing it on a manual trans vehicle, you'll probably want to add a clutch switch too, which the factory never offered.
I think using a factory setup is the easiest and cleanest looking installation method if you want to retain the factory look. The trick is finding a good, working servo. 
Don't forget to add one of these when you're finished:

What kind of car? It's very easy to add factory cruise control to most mopars in the '60s on up. There are some exceptions because some parts are tricky to find. The mopar cruise control from the era is very reliable and simple to use.
