AJ had a 1.00 60 foot, he was spinning the tires, they missed the setup.
What I found interesting was Jason Line commenting that his car was like a Cadillac, does that mean they'll be Cadillacs in PS next year?

Those GM heads look almost identical to the Mopar heads, I've heard the valve angles are all within 1 degree or so of each other but those builders can do what ever they want with them. Most of the gains with the Hemi I believe came from windage control and opening up the deep skirt block they used initially. Even the Ford engine is nearly identical to the others. There isn't any advantage there except the bodies and the teams R&D. Which is why I don't think the Mustang will ever be competive in PS, the car is just to fat.

Johnson was running with them and outrunning them early in the year. The summit cars have found a couple hundredths in the middle of the year here. Edwards cant hang with them either now.

Look at the MPH - that provides a good indication of horsepower. The MOPARs are pretty close in MPH.
Speaking of the competitive teams (as defined as teams that consistently go more than one round), its about chassis set up 75% of the time. The other 25% is the driver. I'm factoring in for track prep in my 75% estimate. Let's face it, most of the drivers are robots and you could swap them between teams, give them a couple practice runs and you wouldn't know the difference.
The thing you have to consider is Pro-Stock cars are run on the ragged edge of out of control. Roy didn't start making "GM" power levels until about 2008. When you add 10-20 HP on a car that's set up to a razor blade width, you've got to start all over. Throw in a new chassis and body and the learning curve is steeper. Remember, the Pontiac G6 platform has been in Pro-Stock for what, 4 or 5 years now? That's a lot of chassis set up experience!
I also think the Summit guys don't start to show all their cards until after the 10th race of the season. Check the results, I think they back me up. I think they do their "experimenting" early in the season and don't focus as much on winning races.
As far as testing goes, Johnson does a lot. Mark is a licensed Pro-Stock driver as well and gets his share of seat time. Do the Summit twins test more? Probably, but having a bigger bank roll than any other team in Pro-Stock at this point in time certainly doesn't hurt.
I can't resist saying this...y'all remember back when WJ's notebook went missing for a few months? That information sure gave one Pontiac driver a heck of a nice baseline to start from - if you catch my drift.

as much as I hate to admit it..But AJ. has lost with a faster car....alot this yr..
his reaction times have not been there when he needed it to be...thats just a fact..
look at the mph..the dodge has plenty enough to win.. not that those other cars arent fast though.. but very often it won on the tree...just ask Jason line..he lost to greg with a faster car.. greg tree'd him.. just the way it is.. cheapst

When I was in the stands on friday night I could hear a rpm difference between the summit cars and the rest of the feild. I only really noticed it on the 3rd and 4th shift. It deffinitly sounded different to me though.
They definitely run those Summit cars at a higher RPM. If you noticed they moved the in car cam. Before they had tape over the tschometer so you couldn't read it. There is physics at work there, the more RPM you turn the engine in the same amount of time the more energy it converts thus the more work it produces.
There was a Cadillac in PS many years ago. It was entered at Gainsville one year. Built by Takash Race Craft, it was nice but didn't qualify.

I think the G6 has a much better aero package than the Mopars. The question I have to ask is, how much longer can they run a body that is no longer available from GM? Will they go with a Camaro next, or something else? KB Racing probably spends in R&D in 6 months that some well funded teams spend in a year, hard to compete with that.
