Never replaced an ignition switch before ( did a turn signal switch on a 70 GTX once) . Do you have to change the locks, as the Year One ad seems to infer?
This is for a 70 E body.
The one in the YearOne catalog is an aftermarket switch. I have seen NOS and reproduction switches on Ebay. I bought a Mopar bagged switch on there. Whether it was NOS or a reproduction, I do not know. The quality was the same as the original one I took out. Keep an eye out for them, they are around.

Bring your patience and line up everything you take off in order. I scratched mine a little. Are you sure your switch is bad? As another member said test the new one first before tearing the column apart.

I went to check on mine and was nervous about doing some damage to my column or the wiring. Mine has an intermittent no start from the key, so I wired in a push button. Would like to see about changing mine too. Haynes manual does not do a good job explaining this repair
i just went through my -70 column,i got the miller tool for pulling the section with the bearing in it on ebag.no scratches that way,you coud build it yourself or buy it in the tool section here on moparts,i think.i bought a nos switch on ebag,spendy,over 100 ballobas.and im still not satisfied cause it had an extra black wire witch my oem didnt have.for the auto floor shift light i believe.i have a 4speed.anyway i liked the nos cause the cables were flat,sort of in a row.as it was on the one i removed.ok, overandout from sweden.my oem switch only has 5 wires.the nos and all others ive seen has 6? hm did they really make a special for the 3-4 speed floor shifters?
