Is it okay to use the stock metal intake gaskets with an aluminum manifold? Also, what sealer should be used? I've used the Permatex #2 in the past. Is that still okay?

Thanks,
Ken

if both the heads and intake have the small ports, yes

when you use a 360 port size intakes on a small port 318 head,I would not use them,to mutch chance of a mix-match of port size and a leak.

but the mix-match of the 2 size ports is no biggei from a performance stand point, you wont notice it on the street.

I would use a fel-pro 1213 SB intake gasket set,it has the heat cross over block and should help keep the alum intake/carb cool.

I like the mopar ATF/RTV or permatex copper RTV in the 4 corners and a light coat on the cork ends seals

let it cure over night for best results.

I used "The Right Stuff" as my end gaskets. Torqued it down and drove away. It's expensive but it really works. Just don't get it in contact with gasoline.

I was under the impression that the metal gaskets will "emboss" themselves into the softer aluminum, and composites were recommended.

The manifold is a Weiand Stealth and it has the small ports like the heads.

I have some of the "Right Stuff" and planned on using it instead of the end seals. I didn't know what kind of sealer, if any, to use on the side gaskets.

Thanks,
Ken.

what did mopar use with the 340 six pack setups?

Ah...so many pedestrians, so little time...
