Long story short, what I thought was a blown head gasket turned out to be a split cylinder wall. The motor is a 500" stroker with less than 100 runs, 14:1, Indy -1 cnc heads, with Jesel pushrod oiling. The more searches I do the more confused I get. I would like to just transfer The parts I have to the new block, this will never be a maximum effort 572, just trying to build a solid ,long living bracket motor. Are the Mopar Performance blocks good, are they available? Any input is appreciated, The motor will be assembled by a reputable shop, not sure who yet. There is'nt much in the way of Mopar oriented machine shops in the Tampa Fl. area, unless someone knows of one. Sorry this is so long, you guys are the best, thanks in advance.

Don't waste another dime on that stock block. I got my Megablock in 2003 and there are more choices now. Call Indy (or an Indy dealer), call Koffel, call Keith Black. There are others as well, do your research. Then BUY the AFTERMARKET block that makes sense for you.

What were the cyliner wall thickness numbers from the sonic test? The availability of the MP blocks (World Products) comes and goes. Since you want to use your pistons (4.3xx"), you will need the smaller bore blocks and sometimes only the larger bore (~4.5") are available. Koleno is an option, slightly more expensive from what I have seen posted.

If all other cylinders have good wall thickness, and a mag check of the whole block looks good, (main bearing webbing) I might chance sleaving it and adding block fill and AL caps or girdle. But tally up the cost and compare to an after market block and see what comes up. Best route is KB aluminum in my opinion, but thats' me.
8..603 156 mph best, 2905 lbs 549, indy 572-13, alky
