thanks. thats all i needed to hear full float it is
When you say full float do you mean bushing the rod small end? I have seen shops hone the rod for a slip fit for the pin then an oil hole in the top (steel on steel). I would NOT recommend this. Bushing the rods can be costly also. Aftermarket rods may be an option. Looks like you are beginning a journey.

I wouldnt waste my time floating them... For your application you will only see your wallet lighten. They use to come with one thick snap ring per side, totally diff from the new spiral type locks. Compression is also no where near what the adv either... closer to 9:1 than 11:1

Used these pistons for years and found several times with press fit the wrist pin on a piston or two were binding and had to re-hone the pistons in question. Finally full floated them with bushings and never had it happen again after 100/s of runs on the car.Good Luck
WHY does this happen? ...I have a set of used 383 ones on rods and a couple of them are binding.

if you had to guess how much?
Slow down..... take 1 step back. stop. Think. 1 what rods are you using onthis build? ly? do you know the condition of them? did you magnaflux them? rebuild the big ends? how about new bolts.??? I have used 2295 a long time ago. THEY ARE VER HEAVY. and the pin is heavy turning 6500 with those iis like turning 7500n with a lighter piston.
eventually .. one of those rods will break. SO I would recommend an NEW aftermarket rod. they will be brand new , good materials, good bolts and bushed pins and MUCH stronger than stock. For a small expense now, or actually the same once you get done working on the rods you have, you will have something that will last.

ok guy's im really gonna make your heart stop with this one. the rods are the extra heavy sixpack rods lol and im not turning more than 6000 to6200 thatsit. just tryn to get back racing rather cheap and like i said the machine work is not costing a thing. i made a trade deal for work. if i can get away with removng the stock piston's and putn those on with out re balance i will do that.
