we ARE going to run shocks in the Rear and the front along with the air bags and today we decided we are going to change out the leaf springs in the rear for a triangulated 4 bar setup (I have it laying around).
the bags in the front when completely aired down set flat with the plate that mount them to the lower arm and they have an upward angle to them on the top plate where it is mounted to the frame so when the bag is aired UP it looks like the bag has a sharper angle to it but that is just the way it works out. we checked out this article where they did this on a toyota (check the link below) Ron...

It's been a few days since the last update, but this is the progress we've made on the truck.

Drivers side header

Starting on the passenger side header

Cutting out the main tube w/the plasma cutter

Mocked up

All welded up

Made patches and welded up all the holes in the firewall

The gauges were next

Ron's addiction

Test fit

Modified to fit our custom setup

Getting ready to tear down the rear for the 4-bar suspension. We will be starting that tomorrow morning.

This is what Ron will be working on

Just a little cutting and a little welding and these rusty old cabs start to look like they just might run again.

I am back to working on the chopped/sectioned COE
and helping Jon too.
spent the last week moving cars and parts around and now we have plenty of room to work in. Ron...

What about fitting the steering column and steering shaft before making the headers. What are you gonna use for a steering column?

The shaft will shoot right under the headers,we checked that for fit before we welded anything up

we have a few ways to go with a column
1 is with a tilt column we have here or
2 we have a stock column out of one of the COE's
that is what Jon is thinking about going with
just to keep it simple. Ron...

So how is the COE project coming along.

I'm still looking for a Dakota donor for my 39 Plymouth pick up. But the free budget has been limiting me.

and then I hope to mount a steering column and shaft.
then I want to get the engine and trans set in place to get ready to make mounts Ron...

not much to report lately on Jon's project but we did get all the 4 bar rear setup tacked in place and the rear air bag stuff as well, just need to do the finish welding. but now the back is adjustable just like the front. we need to get 1 more controller for the air bags and then mount a tank and compressor(we are using the garage air for now)

and sorry I don't know where there are any trucks for sale. I have 2 35-37 cabs and 1 is being built as my 35 COE car hauler and the other cab is slated to be a turned in to a 35 roadster PU in the future. Ron...

P.S. will post some more pics of the rear set up later today....
