Victor Max wedge heads, PAC 1325 springs, +0.100" Crower Ti retainers, 1.950" install height, 275# seat, 710# open at 0.714" lift. mild 264/264 duration @ 0.050" cam, 112 LSA, installed at 108. (Might be better at 110?) Idles nice and smooth at 800-1000 rpm, but not much vacuum. Installed an a 4.15" stroke 400 block (500 cid) with the ICON flat top pistons, 12.4:1 compression. Indy 400-2 4150 flange single plane intake, hooker 2" super comp headers. Holley 1,000 cfm HP carb (could use larger, but already had the carb.) Chassis dynoed at 558 rear wheel HP, in street trim, TTI 3" exhaust, clutch fan, mopar waterpump, 136 amp alternator, 14"x3" air filter with filtered lid, power steering, auto trans, custom 9" converter. Should be easy over 650 flywheel HP?

i used the m/w victors with the super victor manifold on my 528ci. you'll have to spend some time enlarging the holes where the pushrods go thru the heads. put dummy springs on the heads so you can cycle the engine and you will see where the holes need clearancing. i used the t&d rockers and they worked out really nice. also buy the studs from indy to hold the rockers down. they are a full 1" long to give full thread engaugement. i'd use them again. if you start going over .700 lift, things get tricky. good luck witch ever way you go.

Here's a thread documenting the build of my mw victor motor. Maxwedge victor build Dyno resultsRace weight is 3530 and it's gone a best of 9.92 @ 135. Never touched the tune since the day we dyno'd it, so should be some more left in there. Most likely won't be trying much until next year when I should have more time for the car. Haven't had it out since last November.

We built one maniily from left over parts when the Victors first came out. It was a 440 block with 4.15" stroke, flat top pistons and 12:1 CR, pump gas. Comp Cams 283/.683" roller cam, victor intake and a 1050 dominator. The ehads were home ported and since at the time there were no rockers available, we used Indy 440-1 rockers. They fit with minor grinding. The engine was in a 3200 lbs '69 Valiant with SS springs and run a best of 10.08/137 mph. The drivetrain also consisted of leftover parts and the engine was never really tuned, so it propably was never fully sorted out. Afterwards teh engine went in to a SC dragster, and it runs the same speeds as the common chevy revivals and has won one national championship.

While the Victor is a good head, wouldn't it be easier to use an Indy MW head? I don't think the Indys require the fancy offset rockers...
Ted , Indy 440-1's use an offset intake rocker
