Didn't want to highjack the other post "tell me about blowers", so a little about my experience building my latest blower motor.
First the motor itself: Block is '69 440 with Barton main caps. Has a 4.15" stroke crank, Eagle 7.1" rods. Heads are Indy SR's, Harland Sharpe roller rockers Blower is Kuhl 8-71 sitting on an Indy blower manifold Injection setup is a BDS 2 hole bugcatcher with FastXFI fuel injection with injectors above and below the blower.
Motor made 788 hp at 6400 rpm. This is when the injectors maxed out. Going to try upping the fuel pressure a bit to see if it helps out. But don't much care as this is plenty for what I need. The torgue maxed put at 700 lbft at 4600 rpm.
It is going into my '70 Charger, backed by a 727 and a Dana 60. Think it'll be a fun ride.
From my experience building this motor I can say the following about the vendors I used:
Bartons- bunch of great guys, pricey both worth it. Ray himslef is a real good guy too, dry sense of humor but very easy to talk to. Indy- same opinion as most others. Seems like they thought they were doing you a favor by selling you parts. FastMan- Rich has been a pleasure to deal with. Stands behind everything he sells. Every problem came down to his suppliers. BDS- Screwed up so many things on my order that I cant even remember them all. Gave a hard time about straightening them out too. Kuhl- shame they aren't in business anymore they were great to deal with.
Overall though can't wait to get it in the car. Been a while in the making.

Regulator is boost referenced. The injectors being a bit undersized is my fault. During the build we went from a stock crank to the stroker and forgot to tell Rich .

yes..i also had a crappy time with BDS---they screwed up..even though i explicitly ordered a top for dual dominators (4500 series) they sent me a dual 4150 top,..they gladly exchanged & paid for all shipping ect..but just the screw up...ok..now they got my $$$$$...and all of a sudden im no longer a priority...like technical issues..they didnt even care about me no longer,.i like their products,.but they need to work on customer relations--a good bit lately i've been talking with a guy named JR from RBS SUPERCHARGERS.. he is great and totally helpful,.and if he don't know..he will direct you in the correct direction so you can run your machine,.without a disaster and they also have a nice selection of used and new parts---best speed shop i've dealt with yet---umm VZCharger,..what overdrive are you running & static compression & cam ect..i kinda expected a bit more from that beast you built..? i have basically the same set up & i haven't dyno'ed mine yet,.but estimated HP was said to be @1,200 and TQ was to be @950+...im running dual 1150 HP dominators at the moment,.but am going to a bug catcher---suppose to have better off idle and top end over the bird catcher? dunno..im a noob to this...and do not want any mistakes--if that happens,..im back to headers,.glasspacks and a 600 vacum secondary---basically im doomed if i make a mistake..& blower engines are not forgiving i hear---well good luck..and if you'd like to chat tech my email is moparbob498@yahoo.comBob Fedder

Our pacakage is as follows, 4.5" x 4.15", 8:1, Comp Cams mech roller, around 255 degrees at .050", Ported RPM heads, BDS intake and BDS 8-71 blower. Two 750 dp Holleys and water/methanol injection. It made 800 hp and 808 ft-lb in our local dyno and has run 9.51/143 mph on pump gas, SS springs and DOT tires in a car weighing 3400 lbs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSlQ_HFQMXchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JsWg86YoJU

I think the HP on my motor is a bit 'low' for what it is mostly due to me wanting to be extra careful. It is a stock block, pump gas motor after all. My injectors are on the small size to help with the drivability, HP was still climbing like a rocket when we ran out of injector. Also it is actually underdriven right now, but that can change. If it see track time once or twice a year it will be lucky. Built more for scaring the locals and cruising.

In my case the blower itself is a Kuhl unit. My dealngs with BDS were for the bugcatcher and parts of the fuel injection setup, and most of that was through FastMan.

I have had some "interesting" experiences with BDS.It sorta remind me of INDY,the product is good but the customer service is marginal.I've had better luck with Good Vibrations. The latest saga was when I purchased a shorter competition snout,my swingarm belt tensioner would not fit had to "open up" the inside diameter to make it work.
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Well this is my third blower motor in my Charger, each a bit better than the last the first was very mild but still lots of fun. Hopefully I'm done.
Motor is now in the car, but need to finish up the fuel system and wiring for the injection. Probably be ready just in time to sleep for the winter.

Your post just made me realize that I never got the cam spec/card when I got the motor. Have to call over to Bartons and get it.
Not a roller cam though, just a plain old mech. setup.
