I have been hovering on the 10.000000 bubble for almost a full season. I tweaked and poked around trying to sqeeze that little bit extra out, but to no avail. Finally stepped up to a pair of Hoosier radial slicks (30x10.5RX15) from a Hoosier 29.5x10.5x15 bias slick. All I can say is WOW!
Ran a 9.98 at 134 with a 1.395 60'. That was with a corrected altitude of 3300' . Previous best was 10.004 with a 1.414 60'. Had tire pressure set to 20 psi! That took some getting used to! Plus the car drove so much smoother and more stable as well. All is not perfect though, as I did spin real bad a few times, but the track was pretty bad.
I am still pumped over it and cant wait to go out again. Dont know if I'll go through all the hassle of licensing just yet, I've spent enough money this year!!

That's cool. I've driven two cars with radials, a stocker and an altered and I have nothing bad to say about them. I'd put them on my car but I already have a spare set of bias plys and the ones on it now are nowhere near worn out.

I believe we ran 15 psi in the stocker and 13 in the altered.

To be honest be happy with the 9 second pass BUT dont
go through all the BS you need to do for it on a
regular basis... for me racing was alot more fun
running 10.0.............. congrats

Congratulations. Ted is 100% correct but we as racers usually keep pushing for that new best. Instead of just saying heck on it and slowing my cars down it pushed me into joining a gym and getting my fat butt in better shape. Three layer coat, pants, neck collars, gloves, and the rest of the added safety clothing takes its toll on 90 degree days at the track. Get yourself ready for many new bests this Fall.
