Good to hear things are improving. Don't leave that straight hose water in the system for too long. Replace it with demineralized water at some point to minimize chemical deposition. You don't want a nice fresh core getting caked up with carbonates. I used to work at a place that had large demin tanks so bringing home a 5 gallon jog of Demin water whenever it was needed was a snap. Maybe you know a friend who works at a company that purifies the incoming city/well water (power plants, boiler houses, waste to energy plants, etc.)

Wouldn't "distilled water" be the same or good to use? You can get distilled water in just about any grocery store or pharmacy, etc,. We used only distilled water (no coolant) in our water cooled motorcycle engines that had magnesium engine cases and water pumps since the early '80's and never had a problem.

Thanks Troy, Yes that is a pic of my engine compartment. Under recommendation of "The Mopar Doctor" I am going to put back the 180 degree thermoastat and the original Mopar 7 blade fan. The radiator is the original 26" 3 core. When you look into the radiator with the cap removed, on idle, it is better than a jacuzzi in there. Or when you look into the radiator, not running, it looks brand new.
The timing is correct. Will post, with temperature readings, after I make these recommended changes.

Mike, you have me convinced............ I'll go get some G05 to add to my distilled water and water wetter I already have...... My have to recharge the water wetter since I'll be draining some of the water inlew of the "G".......

Hello Mike, I can't believe it but I drained the radiator and added plain hose water.

now drain it all and replace it with anti-freeze and distilled water.

i know some people argue this point, but every radiator guy i know insists on it, as well as all the engine builders i can think of. the minerals in tap water will eventually cause build-up and corrosion.

why take the chance?
