..... I need two narrowed combos .. are REsplined way-shortened C-body axles OK(car should be a 3300? lbs/727/footbrake with a "nothing" converter. OR ...should I just go with some aftermarket axles? .... the housing would have to be shortened a ton ...and new pads welded-on before the new ends are put on.

Anyone here have a contact for something like this?

the quality of resplind axles is youre question,,on street car maynot be issue, as for a race car running 12.0s??? i have run stock axels at 11.90 and twisted them in a 3400 car,
breaking axels not what you want , so spend youre money 1 time

I had a pair of resplines in my 13 second street cuiser 67 Cuda and the splines wore considerably. They got me nervous enough, that I upgraded to a pair of aftermarket axles from the good Doctor Diff !

I ran stock resplined axels to 6.90 in the 1/8 and moser stock spline axels till a month ago, running 6.0ohs. I twisted the resplined a little then went to the good ones and now there showing a little twist so I finally decided to go to a Dana.

I would run resplined ones again in a lower powered car.

Moser will respline them but I forget what it cost.

that's what I'm affarid of. Ran a couple of 11.93's at 115 on "easy passes" Going to step it up next time out. I'm probably going to upgrade before then. FWIW I ran 12.0's in a 67 coronet w/ stock units w/ zero issues. Probably 50-60+ runs before I sold the car.

I had an 8 3/4 out of an E body narrowed 4" per side for my A Body. We resplined the stock axles & put a stripe on each axle to easy check for twist, but I was running low 13's on street tires. Never did see any twist. now we're about to break into high 11's. The stock ones might work, but I'm maybe a little more on the cautious side. Ran with a Hemi Stock Eliminator & saw a few problems through that time.
We decided to run a spool, slicks and aftermarket axles for the extra measure of feeling safe. Just my

I had Moser respline a set for me years ago for my mild (11.80's at that time) A body. I used 3.91 gears and all seemed good for a few years. I swapped in 4.30 gears and in 2 weekends they were twisted badly. No need for a paint stripe as it's the spline area that twisted and very easy to spot. I ran 28" M/T sportsman pro tires, not slicks. I purchased new axles and had no further problems.

Well guyz .. it seems that the plan is AFTERmarket axles ferr me ...

So between Moser and Dutch ....who is the plan? ... and I would rather stick-with TIMKEN-type bearings ... who is the plan to deal-with there ....to get the stocker ends back on and the pads moved?

Does Doc Diff do this ?
