I'm soaking my original coil in EvapoRust right now. The lettering is starting to reappear. If anyone cares, I can post some pics later. The lettering is a very light green.
Although very similar, my coil says MADE IN U.S.A. right below the part number. The older style font is very crisp compared to what I see on mine. Mine definately looks like a stamp where the older one looks like a dry transfer.
I can post some pics tonight.

I did the dry transfer thing to my FBO coil (which recently crapped out) I could only find white transfers at the time....came out pretty good but was time consuming. Put me down for one to spruce up my painted black MSD Blaster II coil ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

Anybody else have a Canadian coil? This is original from my 69 Barracuda assembled Hamtramck Nov 68 and delivered to Houston.

The top number is 2444242, not -241. Of course, no 'made in USA'.

The date code is horizontal, not vertical. Looks like 10A, and yellow.

My 1972 was made in Canada, and Performance Car Graphics made a coil for me. If memory serves I sent them my original coil and they replicated it very nicely. I think it was the first one they done that had "made in Canada". It was for a 225, if that matters.
Mine only had/has Made in Canada in the green lettering...not embossed. I still have the original here somewhere.
I can post pics if needed, I must have some digital before and after pics somewhere.

Hi everyone,
There has been a lot of good feedback generated on the coils. I think we are finding that there are several differences showing up even within the 69-71 range. We are seeing differences in 1970 and 1971 coils even though they have the same information. Additionally we have the Canadian made coils entering the mix.
The later vehicles 72-74 have completely different graphics. Having owned( 20 years) and restored a 74 Challenger myself I understand the challenges on the later years. '74's are almost a stand alone year with many parts and changes unique to a 74 (which wasn't even a full year production). It's like the small block vs big block on the other years.
We've got the artwork completed for the 70 model year. To do a transfer correctly requires quite a set up. Naturally we want the items to be as correct as possible. How far should we take this?

Hi Guys, Here is an example of the green coil transfers - hot off the press. It was transferred onto a black background for easy viewing. They are very easy to apply, impervious to chemicals and an accurate match to the originals. The cost is $24 each. A perfect alternative for those who want a factory original look but without the hassle of hand stamping. Dates range from early 1969 to late 1971. 1-855-532-7846 www.ecsautomotive.com![](http://ecsautomotive.com/other/2011-10-19/05.jpg)

Service manual says that's correct for Prestolite coils in 69. I think it could be either 241 or 242? My 69 340 4 speed is also 242
