I have a a 284/484 (DCC 4120235) camshaft I'm going to install in a 440 with approx. 10 to 1 compression. 3600 stall and 4.30 gears. torqueflite trans. What installed centerline would work the best for this motor please. Street car. Thanks for the input. (I hope I worded that correctly)

that cam is groung on 108 centers with 2 degrees advance ground into it. that would put the installed centerline at 106. i've done 104 without issue but for me 104 would be the limit. personal opinion here, 106 is probably ideal.

I would aim at 104!

Are you aware that the vacuum is going to be low with that cam... If no power brakes, then you should be fine..

Just my $0.02...

I've got the same cam in my 66,383 with 906 heads. It's been in this engine since the early 90's so I don't remember what it was put in at but I have no vacuum issues at all. Power brakes work fine.
