I bought one a while back and was ready to install it last weekend and i noticed that the hole in the brass end of the valve was not drilled in the center. It was drilled off to the side at an angle. Is this Correct or is it some sort of defect? It seems to me that when you screw in your brake line it will block off half the hole. plus i cant see how the plunger will block fluid flow. Any thoughts on this? Did i explain it well enough?

Can you post a pic? I just put one on my car and it works fine. I think I know what you are describing but a pic would help.

Just checking that you are aware that threads in the line lock solenoid itself are pipe threads. You have to use adaptors and then thread your brake lines into those. Be sure to use teflon tape on all threads, but keep it out of the system.

I've attached the instruction sheet.

I cant take a pic right now, but i drew this up quick. Here are some views of the brass part cut in half. The one on the right is how it currently is, the one on the left is how i think it should be.

Well. that is not the same one I have so I'm not sure now. I tried looking at the above attachment and it locked up my browser. Maybe call Summit's tech line and see what they have to say.

I can tell you that on the Summit lock I bought, the supply side to the brakes was cut at an angle. Why I don't know. That's why I wanted to see the hole to see if it looked like mine.

Oh....you changed the subject line.

Is it just not showing in the picture, or is there only one port on that thing?

Also, it looks like it is the inverted flare fitting and not pipe thread like most of them....

So i ended up taking my lock back up to Summit and i had them pull a few off the shelf for comparison. They all had the hole off center. It had been almost a year since i bought mine, so i figured by now, if there was a problem with this, i wouldnt have been the first to complain. So i took it home and installed it, and everything seems to be working like it should.
On another note, you do need 1/8NPT to 3/16 double flare fittings in both ends.

Hope this isn't dumb, but... I also have a Biondo line lock and have never used it. what is the sequence to initiate the line lock? Do you pump the brakes and release them and then push the button to activate the solenoid, or do you depress the button while you depress the brake pedal?

Its correct, you need to use NPT threads, not a flared fitting on that side. I ran into the same thing, I ruturned it and had summit send another only to find the exact same thing. I put a pipe thread fitting on that side, and it works fine.

To the last question: Pump the brakes to full pressure, then hit the switch to lock the line. Although, you can hit the button and then push the brakes, as it is a 1-way valve (WON'T let pressure out, but WILL let more in).
