Drain the converter and put in all new fluid. When removing the valve body the spring above it is the accumulator spring and you can leave it out for more positive shifts. The servo springs are for the front and rear band pistons and you need those in there to return the pistons all the way. To change the front band lever the trand needs to be out of the car, remove converter and then you can access the plug and shaft to swap levers if you need to.
