Hey gang.
I'm looking to get the TurboAction Cheetah Pro Street Manual/Automatic valvebody for the Daytona. It's been a while since I installed one, but had a question about other modifications to the 727. I know the installation of the valvebody itself is pretty straight forward, but what else is recommended? Do I remove the servo spring? Replace with a straight rod? etc... I remember doing something a long time ago, on a 727 I had in my '70 Charger R/T, but can't remember.

I dont believe there is anything else other than removing the kick down lever if its full manual I was going to install one on the 62 but it turned out to be full race.

I installed the Pro-street version in my '63 330 and called them before I did it.
They recommended 3.2 Kickdown Lever for a transmission with a big Servo and 4.2 or 5.0 lever for one with the small servo (usally a part # on the side of the trans starting with PK34 for less).
They also said to used 12 springs in the front clutch retainer.
The last thing was 2 1/2 turns for the rear band adjustment (pretty much standard).

You can download the instructions on the summit or Tubro Action website. I didn't replace the spring when I installed mine. as it was not in the installation instructions. FWIW mine works fine

I run that set-up in my Charger with 500+HP 440 and it works great. No crazy install tips here. I also did not install the spring and it has no issues.

Drain the converter and put in all new fluid. When removing the valve body the spring above it is the accumulator spring and you can leave it out for more positive shifts. The servo springs are for the front and rear band pistons and you need those in there to return the pistons all the way. To change the front band lever the trand needs to be out of the car, remove converter and then you can access the plug and shaft to swap levers if you need to.

Thannks guys.. I'll do what I can from underneath without taking the tranny out. So I'll replace the valve body, adjust the bands and install the new Mopar deep pan kit.

If the mopar kit does not include the late style heavy duty pan gasket, get one of those too. Hard plastic with rubber inserts so the gasket can't push out.
