Anyone run a Holley 670 street avenger on a Ebrock performer RPM? Also, is it possible to do a accurate compression check with the motor out of the car by rotating the crank with a breaker bar? I forgot to do it before yanking the motor. (using the starter)

Information overload!

I doubt you will get anywhere near enough rotation speed to get anything remotely accurate . I would do a leakdown test but even then a little heat in the engine before hand would have been nice.

Is the engine original or has it been rebuilt ?

When I put it up for the winter there was a tick from the motor, I thought I wiped a lobe. I yanked the motor and there is evidence of the motor having been apart. (newer gaskets etc.) So far I pulled intake and found no damage and it is really clean. I probably have a collasped lifter. I will be pulling the heads and pan soon so I will have more info soon.

Thanks John.

Did you rule out an EXHAUST LEAK ??? This can sound similar to a lifter tick .

my exhaust is new, I will check the manifolds.
