The big block 440 bars are .092 in diameter, Stamped ID NO. 780/781

Your stock 318 bars are .088 in diameter, with a Stamped ID NO.776/777

There was also a seperate bar for the lighter 383 BB Witch was .090 in diameter, stamped with ID NO. 778/779


As for your question of what bar to go with, it will depend on the overall front end weight change your actually going to have.

With my Abody 440 swap from its original 318. Im still using the 318 bars.

The 318 was loaded, Air conditioning/Power steering/Power brakes/Emissions crap.

VS none of the above with just a 440 with aluminum heads /intake and battery in the trunk.

Depending on the total swap perameters maybe the current 318 bars will be fine.
