The noise from my electric fuel pump is driving me nuts, so I am thinking of going back to a manual pump on my 360.

Back in the day, I ran a Holly chrome manual pump, but after several months of use, the pump arm and the eccentric were severaly worn. At the time I figured it was an issue with the pump and went to an electric pump.

After some careful thought, my educated guess is that the pump arm was worn due to an oiling issue, that is, the idiot that assembled the motor (me) did not put the bolts for the cam thrust plate in the right spots. Although the motor has been apart and reassembled since those early days, I am not sure if I reassembled it correctly, or even put the eccentric back on.

So, I think my next task is to tear down the front of the motor and have a look at the thrust plate bolts..Oh what fun! Somtimes doing things right is a real pain in the but!
