timing EDIT take out the #1 plug (forward most one) and bump the starter via the relay w a screwdriver (between large batt stud and brown "sol" wire) tap tap tap until you feel compression building w your thumb over the plug hole then continue to bump it till the timing marks are at 10 BTDC then install the dist so the rotor is under #1 plug wire and the points are JUST starting to open. Have the dist clamped sort of snug & timing light hooked up & start it & set the timing
