Remove the front bumper and lower splash pan/valance. Unplug the vacuum hoses to the headlight doors and unplug the headlight wiring harness at the connector on the drivers side inner fender. Remove all the bolts that hold the complete metal surround that houses the complete grill assembly and remove the whole assembly as a complete unit. Once the complete assembly is out you can proceed to remove the plastic grill assembly without damaging it unless it is already chipped or cracked. You will not be able to just remove the headlight doors without damaging them with the grill assembly mounted in the car. Trust me, I've done this whole job on my 68 Charger and spent 125+ hours restoring it. Good Luck!
