The later Competition + aftermarket gates only have the alignment holes in the 1/2 & 3/4 arms not the reverse...
Don't know why but I have (3) Hurst gates and they are all this way. So what I do is set the 1/2 & 3/4 arms using a small drill through the holes. Then eyeball the reverse arm..

EZ to tell when all arms are aligned properly in neutral, the shifter lever will move easily left to right..
