Hello everybody. I need a little help. I need a cam for my Hemi Dart clone and I would like to hear what you would run. Here is what I have.

472 ci.
Mopar/Edelbrock aluminum heads with mild port work.
10.5 to 1 compression
A&A Cross Ram, stock
Two Holley 660cfm carbs, stock.
Prestolite Distributor.
3:55 gears
727 with standard gear ratio.
2800 stall
TTI headers (more on that later )

This car will see 95% street use.
I would like it to sound mean but streetable.
I'm open to Roller, Hydraulic Roller and Mechanical cams.

What do you think??

Thanks,

FWIW I pretty much have the same combo but I have a 4 sp and 3:54 gears, stage V heads and inline stage V intake.

I went with a small solid roller from Lunati (had it custom ground for peanuts above an off the shelf piece) Specs as follows:

.582 lift intake (depends on rocker ratio)
.563 lift exhaust (depends on rocker ratio)
280 total intake duration (244 at .050)
287 total exhaust duration (251 at .050)
110 lobe seperation.

I get 16" of vacuum at idle. It's a street grind so the ramps are gentler and you dont need stupid spring pressure. I have an installed height of 1.9", 190lbs closed, 450lbs open. It revved to 6500rpm on the dyno with no problems. Plus it wont beat up the lifters. This combo made 658HP at 6500 rpm. Really nice idle. It will idle at 750rpm if I wanted it to but I Keep it around 1000 to get oil on the lifters. Very nice car by the way.

John, That appears to be the same cam I run. Correct you don't have to have nor do you want monster spring pressures for street use. And also 1,000 rpm at idle on mine.
