There is something to be said for that. How many passes in those 5-1/2 years?

For a race engine, I would consider a tear down this winter if you have a bunch of passes on it. Sometimes preventive maintenance is better than a broken crank, rods, pistons, block, etc. A set of bearings and gaskets is good insurance.
